Consultant Committee members gather in our Heavy Equipment classroom to discuss current needs for new employees in the industry.

Questar III BOCES held its annual Consultant Committee Meeting on January 24, 2024. Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs are required to have a Consultant Committee comprised of industry professionals and educators who are dedicated to developing and maintaining high-quality CTE programs. Business representatives from around the region visited Robert H. Gibson Technical School and Donald R. Kline Technical School for our annual meeting to share their expertise and insight with our CTE teachers.

Members of the Consultant Committee tour our Nursing Assistant classroom with our teacher.

CTE teachers are professionals in their field before they take the next steps to becoming teachers. While they are busy teaching technical skills to the next generation, area businesses help ensure that they too are staying up to date on the current trends and needs within their industries. Teachers share their lesson plans and have meaningful industry conversations so they can fully understand what employers need to see out of the next generation of workers.

With 20 CTE and Career Services programs across 3 schools, Questar III is grateful for the support of these individuals and businesses. The collaboration of this committee rings true to the Questar III mission, “changing lives, realizing dreams, and doing together what can’t be done alone.”
