MENUMENU

George Washington School

Welcome to George Washington School!

Dear Parents/Guardians,

As the principal of George Washington School (GWS), I would like to extend a warm welcome for students and families for the 2018-2019 school year.  I am excited to share some new updates and initiatives made this summer.

I am excited to announce that George Washington’s Library is undergoing a makeover!  Following hard work from the Questar III library media services, GWS will now have a catalogued and updated library system for students.  We will have a part time library media specialist providing library time on Mondays and our students will be enjoying newly purchased reading materials!

A central focus of George Washington School is to promote literacy across the curriculum for our students.  Throughout the year, we will be planning many fun and exciting events and activities to encourage and celebrate reading.  Your support of our reading initiatives really helps to reinforce your child’s literacy skills.  Please look in our GWS monthly newsletter for a new a section devoted to reading.  There will be tips, activities and/or ideas that you can use to encourage your child to read at home.

A crucial factor in any student’s success is family involvement.  I look forward to working in partnership with you to provide an enriching educational experience.  Please feel free to contact me at 518-283-5752 with any questions or concerns. I am very excited for the opportunity to be a part of your child’s school experiences and am looking forward to a wonderful school year!

Sincerely,
Danielle Remillard
