On Tuesday, June 27th, the Questar III & HVCC STEM High School was visited by the U.S. Secretary of Education, Miguel Cardona, as part of the Investing in America Tour. With him included Congressman Paul Tonko, New York State Labor Department Commissioner Roberta Reardon, SUNY Chancellor John King and Hudson Valley Community College President Roger Ramsammy. Students were able to showcase the different aspects of project-based learning they’ve participated in and how this will prepare them for their future.
The group also received an inside look at the technology used by the college in manufacturing courses, including simulation training for welders. Following the tour, Questar III BOCES Superintendent Dr. Gladys I. Cruz was invited to be part of a roundtable discussion with business leaders about making investments a reality, with students being a focus for their future.
The Investing in America Tour is part of President Biden’s effort to highlight technical and vocational career paths to drive manufacturing and clean energy, rebuilding America’s infrastructure and economy.
