On June 12, seven students from Questar III’s Sackett Educational Center received their high school diplomas during a ceremony held at the Green Meadow Elementary School surrounded by their friends, family, teachers and administrators.

Sackett_graduation 020Greg Lammon, Natasha Mattos, Arjay Mayer, Anthony Mayou, Vance McKee, Ryan Morash and Vincenet Nye have all successfully completed the program and are moving on to continuing education programs, Lineman training, Emergency Medical Technician training and a career in auto services.

The ceremony included moving speeches from Teachers’ Ryan Moloney, Christine Carioto, Joal Bova and Principal Rockenstyre. “My hope is as you journey into adulthood you will continue with a growth mindset, excited to learn and take on new challenges. Remember making mistakes along the way continues to build character. The most successful people embrace learning and improving,” said Rockenstyre.

The internship required the students to read to the students, create and present lesson plans that aligned with the reading.

During the ceremony, Ryan Morash spoke about how when he started the program, he did not want to write a paragraph, and now was in front of everyone reading an entire speech he had written.

Before ending the ceremony, Rokenstyre quoted Coach John Wooden to the students, “The best competition I have is against myself to become better. Success is never final, failure is never fatal. It’s the courage that counts.”
