Students in Cairo-Durham CSD’s Questar III Pre-K.
Questar III BOCES is proud to announce the expansion of their Pre-K program this year, with one new classroom in the Cairo-Durham CSD and two new classrooms at Red Mill Elementary School in the East Greenbush CSD. Cairo-Durham’s full-day classroom opened with eighteen new students at the beginning of September (this classroom is in addition to Questar III’s existing AM/PM class). East Greenbush CSD’s new classrooms will provide programming to 36 new students and are set to be fully operational by October 25. In all, 3 teachers and 3 teaching assistants have been hired for these new classrooms.
Questar III BOCES provides programming for eight Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK) classrooms in three counties and school districts. Additionally, Questar III is one of three BOCES in New York State that offer Targeted Pre-Kindergarten programs (TPK) – grant-funded programs for financially eligible families – with three TPK programs in two counties across three school districts. “There could not be a more worthwhile investment for our schools than the expansion of their Pre-K classrooms – we are both honored and excited to be establishing these new classrooms at Cairo-Durham and East Greenbush,” said Cyndi Herron, Assistant Special Education Director at Questar III BOCES.
