A message from Ms. Remillard:

Winter arrived early to George Washington School (GWS) bringing with it two snow days!  In order to relay information about school closings and delays as quickly as possible, we post on the local news stations and provide phone calls, text messages and emails through our School Messenger system. We follow Averill Park Central School District for school closings or delays related to weather.

Our Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) Skill of the Month for November was “Managing Emotions.” Our Level 4 and Primary Party rewarded students who consistently demonstrate our 3 Bs with a pizza party!  For the third year in a row, students and their families at GWS were generously provided a Thanksgiving meal with all the trimmings, made possible by HMA Contracting and the YMCA.  We ended the month with our very own Thanksgiving meal.

This month George Washington School will be holding the first parent/teacher conferences of the school year.  We hope you can attend. Teachers are looking forward to sitting down and reviewing your child’s progress!

Room 15 gives ideas on how to “Manage Our Emotions” at our PBIS Assembly!

This month’s PBIS Party! Students from all different classrooms had fun enjoying their well-deserved treat!

A Time to Give Thanks

Representatives from the Capital District YMCA and HMA Contracting delivered 56 Thanksgiving Baskets to George Washington School!

Thank you so much for your generosity!
