Peter Priolo was in financial management for 12 years before the stock market’s downturn in 2001. Encouraged by his wife, he decided to enroll in the nursing program.

“I’ll always have fond memories of those times,” said Peter, referring to studying with his son and completing the rigorous program that prepared him to become a licensed nurse. “The nursing profession was a very good fit for me and something I wish I had done sooner.”

Peter worked at the long-term care facility Kaaterskill Care for 12 years before retiring last year..

Jesse Priolo initially enrolled in the program at the recommendation of his parents. “Being such a young age, I didn’t realize what it meant at the time. The program prepared me for what I am and will be doing,” said Jesse.

He is currently employed as an RN at Albany Medical Center’s Neurological Intensive Care Unit. Jesse is also pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from SUNY Plattsburgh.

In the end, the entire Priolo family went onto become nursing professionals. Jytte specializes in acute rehabilitation as an RN at Northern Dutchess Hospital. Jill and Steffen also worked in the field before moving onto other pursuits.
