QIII receives REDC award

Questar III BOCES has been awarded nearly $100,000 through Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s 2013 Regional Economic Development Council Awards to provide free or low-cost training to 30 long-term unemployed adult workers in Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVAC/R), Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) and welding.

Adult & Community courses available

The International Center for Workforce and Personal Development is offering numerous Community and Adult Education courses this spring. The diverse selection of courses will be held at Columbia-Greene Educational Center (CGEC) and Rensselaer Educational Center (REC).

Core skills can help fill jobs

Far too many high school students graduate unprepared for college or work, and far too many good jobs go unfilled every year. Two recent news items point to the need for public education, business and others to work together and to respond to our changing workplace and economy.

Adult Ed students make acting debut

Recently, two of Questar III’s adult education students performed in the play “A Mid-Autumn Night’s Dream with Apologies to Shakespeare” at the Sand Lake Center for the Arts in West Sand Lake.
