Lynn Clum

Lynn Clum has more than 20 years experience on the Germantown Central School District Board and is a commercial representative for GTel in Germantown.

How and why did you end up on the Questar III Board of Education?
I served on the Germantown CSD Board of Education for more than 20 years. When my kids were young, we were new to the district and I was looking for a way to get involved and I enjoyed doing it.

Last year, former board member Don Kline asked me to consider serving on the Questar III Board as he was retiring. He and Pat Gabriel convinced me to serve as a representative of Germantown CSD.

How do you believe your experience on the Germantown CSD board will benefit Questar III?
Questar III is so different than a school district board. However, I have experience with communication, public relations and public speaking that I think will be useful in this role. As a board member and a community member, I will help Questar III offer more in-depth services. Because I know how school districts operate, I can help better inform them of Questar III’s service

What is your motivation for serving on the Questar III Board?
I find giving back to the community is most fulfilling. I believe I can provide Questar III with a new person’s perspective, which could be very useful.

What are some of your goals for the upcoming school year?
I really plan to take this year to learn more about Questar III and see how it operates.

My long-term goals include initiating new programs and shared services for districts, including programs for students who excel and those who are technologically inclined.

College isn’t the right path for every student, so we need to push career readiness so these students will be successful in the workforce.

Outside of Questar III’s Board of Education, what are your interests?
I’ve lived in Germantown for the past 32 years where I raised my three children. Now I’m a new grandmother and I spent every bit of my free time with my new grandson and family.
