Questar III BOCES FFA members pose at the NYS Convention.

Hannah Ferrer and Adrianna Moon placed first in their competition.

Questar III BOCES students in the Marilyn A. Noonan School at Durham Future Farmers of America (FFA) Chapter have had a successful inaugural year. On top of the hard work and dedication in creating this chapter, students have spent countless hours preparing to compete against their peers at competitions. Students recently traveled to Buffalo, NY for the 99th New York State Convention, held May 2 – 4, 2024. In addition to competition, students participated in various workshops and tours, networked with industry professionals and students from other schools, heard from inspiring guest speakers and more. The chapter was also recognized at the awards ceremony for being newly chartered this year. Congratulations to the students who placed in the competition:

  • Hannah Ferrer (Germantown Central School District) and Adrianna Moon (Catskill Central School District), Animal Systems, Division 6, Agriscience Fair – 1st place
  • Lorna Pigott (Coxsackie-Athens Central School District) and Chelsey Carlson (Catskill Central School District), Plant Systems, Division 6, Agriscience Fair – 2nd place

Hannah Ferrer and Adrianna Moon have been invited to compete at the FFA National Convention in Indianapolis this October with their first place finish. Congratulations to all our students on a very successful first year!
