Sackett Educational Center students in garden club saw their latest project come to fruition on Friday, Nov. 6.
The new student-designed fence was installed in the school’s garden.
Students worked with Questar III BOCES Operations and Maintenance staff to design the fence’s aesthetics and dimensions. The design was brought to Building Trades students at our Rensselaer Educational Center who built the fence true to Sackett garden club’s blueprint. The fence completes the school’s new and improved garden.
Students spearheaded this project from start to finish. With the garden now complete, it will provide students with hands-on learning opportunities while increasing environmental awareness and vital experience in problem solving. Students are looking forward to growing fresh fruits and vegetables during prime planting season.
