New Visions: Visual and Performing Arts Parent Info Night

Parents of students interested in attending Questar III’s New Visions: Visual and Performing Arts program for the 2024 – 2025 school year are invited to join us for a Parent Information Night at 7pm on January 9th on Zoom! This is a chance to learn more about the program, meet the teacher, and learn about the enrollment process.

The Questar III New Visions programs provide high school seniors with valuable insight into career options from a real-world perspective. A 1-year, honors-level program, New Visions turns area businesses, healthcare facilities, and government buildings into classrooms for highly motivated, academically successful students.

During this half-day program, New Visions students learn and explore through mentoring, internships, interaction with professionals, group discussion, and creative projects. Each program provides specific 12th-grade course requirements and the opportunity to earn college credits.

Our Visual and Performing Arts program is housed at The Arts Center of the Capital Region in downtown Troy. This program allows students to explore a wide array of careers in the visual and performing arts. Students learn about the business of art, participate in workshops, and interact with local artists and art-related businesses. Students conceptualize and compose professional quality work in a variety of media through rotations in filmmaking, songwriting and recording, playwriting and performance, and more. These rotations give them exposure to several career options while learning the practical aspect of making a living in the arts. Learn more about this program here.
