The Questar III BOCES New Visions programs provide high school seniors with valuable insight into career options from a real-world perspective. A 1-year, honors level program, New Visions turns area businesses, healthcare facilities, and government buildings into classrooms for highly motivated, academically successful students. During this half-day program, New Visions students learn and explore through mentoring, internships, interacting with professionals, group discussion, and creative projects. Each program provides specific 12th grade course requirements and the opportunity to earn college credits.
Questar III BOCES currently offers seven New Visions programs in eight locations:
- Business, Finance and Marketing – Columbia-Greene Community College, Hudson
- Emergency Preparedness, Informatics, Cyber and Homeland Security (EPICH) – University at Albany, Albany
- Medical – Samaritan Hospital, Troy or Columbia-Greene Community College, Hudson
- Pathways in Education – University at Albany, Albany
- Scientific Research & World Health – University at Albany’s Health Sciences Campus, Rensselaer
- STEM @ RPI – Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy
- Visual & Performing Arts – The Arts Center of the Capital Region, Troy
These programs have a limited number of openings and require an application process. Students interested in attending a Questar III BOCES New Visions program in the 2025-2026 school year should join an Information Session with their family in January. Please use the program code to send a text message, which allows you to connect with the teacher and receive the exact location or Zoom information.
