Youth Apprenticeship Program

Description

The Questar III Youth Apprenticeship Program provides an innovative disruption to our region's skilled trades shortage in various trades.

Making the Grade

The Questar III Youth Apprenticeship Program links students with local, high-wage, high-demand, high-skill careers through Matching Day events, job shadowing, paid internships and college courses. We partner with local employers, providing students the opportunity to complete over 200 hours of on-the-job training in their respective trade. Youth Apprenticeship Program students satisfy New York state high school diploma requirements while enrolled in the program.

Chris DiStefano, the Chief Operating Officer for Harrison & Burrowes Bridge Contractors, recently spoke about how partnering with Questar III's Youth Apprenticeship Program offers students a great work experience that can lead to full-time, well-paying jobs after graduation. Harrison & Burrowes is among the 16 companies that employed Questar III students this past summer.
