Courier & Mail Delivery Service

Questar III provides a courier and mail delivery service to school districts, centers, and academies. Please use this service when possible.

Guidelines for the Central Office Mail Room (US Postal Service)

  • At the Central Office, slots are provided in the mail room for outgoing mail. Please use the appropriate slots.
  • Mail from other Centers and Academies sent to the Central Office to be posted should be marked and bundled according to the program that postage should be charged to (i.e., Occupational Education, Special Education, School Library, CTE, etc.). If possible, please put the name of your department in the upper left-hand corner. If mail comes back, we don’t have to open the envelopes to see who it is from.
  • All letter-sized envelopes should have the flaps folded in to run through the postage machine for sealing.
  • Larger-size envelopes such as 9½” x 11½” must be sealed before sending to the mail room, using a clasp or moisture. Do not use scotch tape.
  • On larger-size envelopes, please place mailing labels so the flap and clasp are on your right for easier feed into the postage machine.
  • If mail is to be certified, the proper forms should be filled out and attached before sending to the mail room. The green post card (PS Form 3811) goes on the back of the envelope, and the green/white receipt should be clipped to the front. Please put your name or location on the receipt so we know who to return it to.

Large Mailings

  • Please give the Mailroom at least 24-hour notice for large mailings and notify Barbara Boudreau.
  • Choose the proper envelope size. Use #10 (standard business size) if possible, but do not overstuff—use a larger envelope if necessary.
  • Label envelopes clearly and stack them all the same way with flaps folded in.
  • Ensure envelopes are properly stuffed so we do not waste postage on empty envelopes.
  • Please indicate if envelopes contain the same number of insertions. This avoids weighing each piece separately.

Instructions for Mailings Which Require the Folder and Sorter

  • All QIII locations may use the Folder and Sorter located at the Central Office in the 2nd Floor Copy Room.
  • The Sorter uses Questar III #10 envelopes.
  • The Folder can fold and insert up to 4 pages.

United Parcel Service (UPS)

Items to be shipped via UPS can be sent to the warehouse for pickup.

  • You are responsible for packaging your item for shipment.
  • A UPS Request for Delivery form must be completed and accompany the package. You must include the budget code to be charged.
  • Open a work order for the warehouse to request courier pickup from your office, stating that the box is to be shipped via UPS.

Federal Express

Documents may be shipped by Federal Express when necessary.

  • You must have an open purchase order for FedEx prior to shipping.
  • Note: FedEx charges for scheduled pickups. It may be best to bring your FedEx envelope to a local drop box. Find locations here: https://local.fedex.com/en-us .
  • FedEx shipping envelopes and supplies can be found in the Central Office mailroom.
  • For additional information about using FedEx, contact Jeremy Pestana at 518-479-6804 or Barbara Boudreau at 518-479-6867.
