STEM High School senior Ryan Auger has spent his summer interning at NSH USA Corporation in Menands, NY, as part of his CNC Machining Technology Pathway.
The CNC Machining Technology P-TECH program at STEM High School is designed for students who plan to enter the workforce after earning an Associate of Occupational Studies degree from Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC).
Ryan connected with NSH USA during a Career Jam event held at HVCC.
“I’m glad I got this opportunity to see what it’s like before entering the machinist program, learning the safety protocols and how to handle certain situations. It’s been nice,” Ryan said.
At NSH USA, Ryan is gaining hands-on experience in manufacturing projects, including machining, assembly, shipping, and welding.
“He came in with the work ethic and skill set beyond his years,” said Joe Cronin, Director of Manufacturing Operations at NSH USA. “He impressed us. We consider him a part of the team.”
Ryan will continue interning with NSH USA during the school year while completing his studies at STEM High School and HVCC.
