Academic School Improvement and Career Education Integration

Integration of academic and career and technical education

High Schools That Work (HSTW) is an education reform effort with strong evidence supporting its efficacy in improving student achievement. Its main goals are:

  •  to raise the mathematics, science, communication, problem-solving and technical achievement of more students and
  •  to blend the fundamental content of traditional college preparatory studies with quality career and technical education.

In February 2000, New York became the twenty-third state to join the HSTW consortium of states. Questar III was selected as one of New York’s HSTW pilot sites.
