Career and Technical Education

Questar III provides adults with the opportunity to enroll in Career and Technical Education (CTE) and Career Studies classes at our Educational Centers located in Hudson and Troy.

Questar III’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) and Career Studies classes begin in early September and end in June. Students enrolled in Cosmetology will complete their program in mid-July. Classes are Monday through Friday 8:30–10:45 a.m. or 11:15 a.m.–1:45 p.m. and follow Questar III’s school calendar.

The Questar III CTE and Career Studies classes are two-year programs. Students who complete the year’s curriculum receive a certificate of completion at the end of each year. Automotive Technologies, Construction Technology, Cosmetology, Culinary Arts, HVAC and renewable Energies, Mechanical Technology and Welding which is held in the Columbia Greene Educational Center are available.

The adult tuition for the 2016-2017 school year for a CTE program is $6,518 and the adult tuition for a Career Studies program is $6,518. The tuition covers all instructional costs. There is a nonrefundable $100 registration fee. Regular student supplies, such as notebooks, calculator, paper, and pens or pencils are the student’s responsibility. In addition, a few courses have supply lists.

Students are provided with quarterly progress reports and are expected to maintain satisfactory academic progress, as well as satisfactory attendance.

Prospective students must complete an application and attend an interview. The principal reviews the file and determines if space is available in the class and if we can meet the student’s educational needs.
