]]> Final Review and Correction of Fall 2025 (BEDS Day) Enrollment and Economically Disadvantaged Counts Affecting your District’s State Aid  https://www.questar.org/2026/07/28/final-review-and-correction-of-fall-2025-beds-day-enrollment-and-economically-disadvantaged-counts-affecting-your-districts-state-aid/ Tue, 28 Jul 2026 18:26:30 +0000 https://www.questar.org/?p=598902 Next month, the Office of Information Reporting Services (IRS) will finalize the SIRS and BEDS Online files containing Fall 2025 (BEDS Day 10/1/2025) enrollment and Economically Disadvantaged Counts used for State Aid purposes. After this time, districts will no longer be able to revise these counts. This data directly affects the amount of State Aid received by your district.  

Please review the Fall 2025 (BEDS Day) enrollment and Economically Disadvantaged Counts currently on file with the Department to ensure the data is accurate. Inaccurate Fall 2025 (BEDS Day) Enrollment and Economically Disadvantaged Counts must be revised in SIRS no later than the week of August 10th in order to view data in the final L2RPT refresh before SIRS is closed on August 21, 2026. Please consult your Level 1 data center for processing deadlines.

These forms will now be submitted electronically through the Building Project area in the State Aid Management System (SAMS) Rebuild once it opens.  Between July 16th and August 2nd, these documents cannot be submitted.

]]> Survey 4 – Single Audit Exemption   https://www.questar.org/2026/07/28/survey-4-single-audit-exemption-2/ Tue, 28 Jul 2026 18:24:07 +0000 https://www.questar.org/?p=598896 All school districts and BOCES must respond to the Single Audit Threshold inquiry in Question 1 and either confirm that a Single Audit or Program-Specific Audit Reporting Package was uploaded to the Federal Audit Clearinghouse (FAC) or file the Single Audit Exemption Form for fiscal year-end 2026 in the NYSED Application Business Portal (Business Portal) by March 31, 2027. 

The Business Portal is now open for all school districts and BOCES to submit their Single Audit Exemption Form, if applicable, pursuant to the Office of Management and Budget’s Uniform Guidance 2 CFR §200.501(d), or confirm that their Single Audit or Program-Specific Audit Reporting Package was uploaded to the FAC, pursuant to the Office of Management and Budget’s Uniform Guidance 2 CFR §200.512(a)(1),(b)(1), and (d).

]]> District Remaining EXCEL Allocation as of July 2026  https://www.questar.org/2026/07/28/district-remaining-excel-allocation-as-of-july-2026-2/ Tue, 28 Jul 2026 18:22:56 +0000 https://www.questar.org/?p=598894 Per Chapter 61 of the Laws of 2006, districts were allocated an EXCEL (Expanding our Children’s Education and Learning) apportionment under the EXCEL program. The 2026-27 Enacted Legislative Budget specified that districts’ apportionments will now only be available for a limited time, and projects must be certified to DASNY prior to December 31, 2028.
