Frank Zwack

Frank Zwack, Jr. began his first term as a member of the Questar III Board of Education in 2015. Zwack is a lifelong resident of Stephentown, NY and a graduate of the Berlin Central School District.

Zwack has served on the Berlin CSD Board of Education for more than 30 years, serving as its President for nine of those years. His motivation for his service to education has been to provide every student with the best possible opportunity to excel academically while doing so with dignity and respect for both the student and educator alike in the most cost-effective manner. “It’s all about success for our students,” said Zwack.

He says the biggest problem facing public education today is proper funding, and that the best way to solve that problem is through shared services, like the ones Questar III provides. He says shared services will be key for allowing small school districts to keep their identity during times when district consolidation is rampant, often leading to larger districts “absorbing” smaller ones and causing those smaller districts to lose their sense of self. Coming onto the board, Zwack has a clear goal.

“I want to see Questar III be a leader in educational services, help the BOCES get out in front and be a leader in the region.”

Zwack is President of Zwack, Incorporated, located in Stephentown, NY.  A family-owned manufacturer of specialty machinery and equipment for 45 years, Zwack, Incorporated employs over 40 employees and has customers that include Fortune 500 companies and supplies services internationally as well as to over 300 local municipal organizations.

Zwack has been a member of the Stephentown Volunteer Fire Department for over 40 years, during which time he has served in a variety of leadership positions including its Fire Chief and President. He is equally proud to volunteer in and sponsor other local civic and community-based organizations and has been recognized by various volunteer fire and emergency medical services, VFW and Veterans’ programs, in addition to church and cemetery boards. Frank previously served as a College Board Advisor for Hudson Valley Community College in addition to being a sponsor of their Manufacturing Technical Systems Capstone Program.

Zwack received an Associate’s Degree in Production Engineering from Hudson Valley Community College and a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Union College.

Zwack and his wife Deborah have been married for almost 40 years. They have two children and two grandchildren.
