Two students get hands-on with battery testing with HVCC’s Department of Applied Sciences Chair, Dr. Chris McNally
Questar III BOCES students from Questar III & HVCC STEM High School had the opportunity to take an educational field trip, without ever leaving school! Located on the Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC) campus, students from the P-Tech & SS-ECHS programs participated in an “EV Day”, a hands-on event filled with all things electric vehicles (EV).

Livingston Energy Group hosted a charging station presentation with students, while HVCC’s Department of Applied Sciences Chair, Dr. Chris McNally, held a workshop on battery testing at the college’s brand-new EV lab. Between lectures, students had the opportunity to explore one of the eight EVs on-site, as well as an electric bus from the Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA).
A popular feature amongst the fleet of EVs was activating the Tesla Light Show:
Students had a great time at the event as they explored the future of the automotive industry.
