On March 16, career and technical education (CTE) students from Robert H. Gibson Technical School, Donald R. Kline Technical School, and Marilyn A. Noonan School at Durham competed at the SkillsUSA Area III Regional competition.
Questar III students earned an amazing 20 medals for first, second and third place in individual and team events. This includes seven first place winners. These students will advance to the state competition on April 26-28 in Syracuse, NY.
SkillsUSA Championships are annual career competition events that showcase the best Career & Technical Education (CTE) students in the nation. Competitions begin locally and continue through the state and national levels.
The contests can be directly related to a Career/Technical Program, such as Carpentry, Commercial Baking, Crime Scene Investigation and Cosmetology or academics such as Related Technical Math. Students can also enter competitions that test their leadership skills such as Job Interview, Prepared Speech or Job Skills Demonstration. Each competition is judged by industry professionals.
Congratulations to all Questar III students who competed in the competition!
