Many of you have begun to receive your Health Care Bonus payments from the Department of Health. The payments are coded HWB and FTX. Those payments coded to “HWB” are the salary portion of the bonus and those coded to “FTX” are the FICA portion for the bonus.
OSC has advised that the Health Care Bonus program should be accounted for in the Special Aid fund. The revenue code would be F3289-Other State Aid and the expenditure code should follow the function/department the employee being paid works under. For example, a payment for a nurse would be coded F2815.16 for their bonus and F2815.8 for the employer FICA expense.
