Topic: The Basics of GASB 87 – Leases and What an SBO/Treasurer Needs to Know Now
This webinar will be an overview of what GASB 87 requires for lessees and lessors, a walk-through of some examples of how the required journal entries are calculated and recorded, and an overview of other considerations related to leases with your BOCES. GASB 87 was effective for years starting after June 15, 2021, so adoption of this accounting standard will first be reported in this year’s ST-3 and the audit of the fiscal year ending June 30, 2022. We encourage you to begin working on this now, so as not to delay the submission of Claim Forms and/or the annual audit this fall.
