The following message was sent to families in our Columbia-Greene Educational Center programs.

Late this evening, Questar III was notified that a student at the Columbia-Greene Educational Center tested positive for COVID-19. The student was last on campus on November 9.

At this time, out of an abundance of caution, Questar III is moving the impacted program to remote instruction for tomorrow and Friday. We have identified and notified all staff members and families of the students in the program of the positive case to quarantine. These individuals will be contacted by the department of health or a Questar III BOCES representative regarding dates when they can return to school or work. Other impacted individuals will be contacted by the department of health or a Questar III representative.

If you are not contacted, there is no further action needed on your part.

While I understand that you may want additional details, privacy laws restrict us from disclosing or confirming any personally identifiable information.

We continue to follow state and local guidance to ensure that we are doing everything we can to protect the health and safety of our students and staff. Per our cleaning protocols, identified spaces and high touch areas within the building are cleaned and disinfected every day we are in session.

Please remember to follow all health and safety guidelines when outside of school so together we can protect one another and keep our school open.

Please continue to monitor you or your children for any symptoms of COVID and report any absences and positive COVID-19 test results to our office immediately. Symptoms vary, and some people may not experience any symptoms. Please contact your healthcare provider (or the county health department if you do not have one) to be assessed if you or your child have one or more of these new or worsening symptoms:

  • a temperature greater or equal to 100.0° F
  • feel feverish or have chills
  • cough
  • loss of taste or smell
  • fatigue
  • sore throat
  • shortness of breath
  • nausea, vomiting, diarrhea
  • muscle pain or body aches
  • headaches or nasal congestion/running nose

Please contact me or COVID19@questar.org directly with any questions or concerns.
