Please see the letter below from Region 4 Director Kerrie Burch:
It is with deep regret that I write to inform you that the Region 4 Odyssey of the Mind Tournament at Coxsackie-Athens Central School on March 21, 2020 is cancelled. Due to several factors, including NYSOMA’s decision to cancel the State Finals and the rapidly changing status of COVID-19, we will not hold the tournament this year. Please know that this was not an easy decision and that we were waiting on several pieces of information before communicating this information to you.
We share the disappointment, frustration, and sadness you all must be feeling. Just as your teams worked hard this year to prepare a solution to their problems, we too worked hard to ensure that the tournament would be a success for all students, and were almost ready for the tournament. As in true Odyssey form, I encourage you to find ways to share your experiences with your teams with others, to share your creative talents with those around you, and to continue to exhibit the true spirit of Odyssey of the Mind.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we arrived at this decision. We do hope that you will join us next year for our Region 4 Tournament.
