Instructional Hours Waiver Due Tomorrow, 11/15

The one-time application for a waiver from meeting the minimum instructional hours is due tomorrow, Friday, November 15th. The waiver covers the 2018-19, 2019-20, 2020-21 and 2021-22 school years. No waivers will be accepted for 2022-23 and beyond. The waiver is part of the ‘180 Days Calendar Form’ set in SAMS and has it’s own Superintendent Certification requirement. NOTE: This is not a waiver from the 180-day requirement in Education Law.

Tax Base Growth Factors Available

The NYS Department of Taxation and Finance has released Tax Base Growth Factors for School Districts for 2020. The list is sorted by school district name within each county and can be found here. Districts are encouraged to check the list periodically for possible changes or updates to it. Nassau and Suffolk counties are not yet available.

Medicaid Alert #19-05

School Supportive Health Services Program (SSHSP) providers are required to certify the staff pool list (SPL) and calendar quarterly, even if no changes to the current staff pool list. Staff pool lists and calendar certifications for January – March 2020 are due by December 6th. According to the Alert, districts should log in to the RMTS system as the first step. Public Consulting Group (PCG) will be sending out materials to help districts with the process.
