In January, SED released a Model Calendar Version 2.0 for districts to use to record their 2018-19 school year instructional hours, as well as for planning their 2019-20 calendars. At that time, the guidance memo that came with the calendar stated “District officials should anticipate completing this calendar for each appropriate grade level and school for the 2018-19 School year in their Summer/Fall 2019 SAMS claims submissions.” It is our understanding SED is working on revisions to the SAMS forms that will allow districts to upload their calendar spreadsheets. We hope that additional information will be forthcoming in the near future.
Therefore, districts should complete and be ready to upload the calendar for the 2018-19 school year as part of the reporting process in SAMS this summer. The calendar includes the guidance memo.
