On April 16, component school districts’ boards of education unanimously approved Questar III’s proposed $6.4 million administrative budget for the 2019-20 school year. This is the only portion of the BOCES budget that component school districts vote on each year.
Component school boards also voted to fill five BOCES Board of Education positions.
Questar III BOCES Board Members Ed Brooks (Ichabod Crane CSD), Lynn Clum (Germantown CSD) and Nadine Gazzola (Taconic Hills CSD) were reelected to three-year terms starting July 1.
Jennifer Haggerty (Rensselaer CSD) was also elected to a three-year term starting July 1.
Mary Marro-Giroux (Troy CSD) and Mary Yurista (Schodack CSD) tied for the seat left vacant by the passing of Board Member Paul Puccio. This will result in a run-off election to be held within the next 20 days, in accordance with school law.
All component school districts are required by law to vote on the BOCES administrative budget on the same day.
