Learning more than a new language

Thitima Eannazzo

Questar III helps adult students like Thitima Eannazzo achieve the American dream. A native of Thailand, Eannazzo studied English in Questar III’s English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) program in Hudson.

As a student in the morning and afternoon programs, Eannazzo worked hard to develop her English skills over a two-year period. She now attends SUNY New Paltz’s Haggerty English Language Program, which provides intensive language instruction to non-native speakers.

Eannazzo credits Questar III teachers Irene Cruz and Elaine Smith for pushing her and her classmates to succeed. “They are special. They knew what we needed,” she said.

In addition to improving language skills, Eannazzo said the program also taught students about citizenship and social considerations.

Eannazzo, who lives in Tannersville with her husband, learned about Questar III through a friend, who also attended the program. “It really helped my English. I recommend it to others,” she said.
