Questar III’s Challenge Program provides students with opportunities to work towards achieving a Regents high school diploma while strengthening their social and emotional skills. Challenge classes are held throughout district buildings to accommodate inclusion where appropriate, in regular and academic courses. Therefore, this program is for students who can benefit from a public school environment. Questar III’s Challenge Program includes: physical education or adaptive physical education, if appropriate, (3x40 group), social worker support (1x30 group), and psychologist support. Behavior specialist support, and psychiatric consultation are available on as needed basis. Challenge classes are 8 students per 1 teacher and 2 teaching assistants (8:1:2). The Challenge program is a full day and runs September through June, with extended year program as an option.
