Challenge Intensive with Career Studies (6:1:1)

Questar III’s Challenge Intensive with Career Studies program serves students with emotional and behavior difficulties. The program is structured for students who require intensive behavioral intervention. Students are assisted in reaching their academic and social milestones with a building-wide student support system and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports. At the career-tech center students explore various career options which are listed in the course offering catalog. The Challenge Intensive with Career Studies program includes physical education or adaptive physical education, if appropriate, (3x40 group), social work support (1x30 group), crisis intervention, psychologist and behavior specialist support and psychiatric consult. It is a full day program for students in grades 10 - 12 with half day devoted to career studies and half day devoted to academics. The academic program is comprised of six students, one teacher and one teaching assistant (6:1:1). The Career Studies classes are 12 students per 1 teacher (12:1). The Career Studies program is non-accredited at this time. Districts are responsibile for transporting students between sites.
